Automated MIS
Your monthly MIS in minutes, not days
The slow part of a monthly MIS is not the maths — it is re-deciding, every month, where each ledger goes. Decide once, and each month after that is a refresh: an automated MIS report from the raw trial balance, in minutes.

Also called mis report, management accounts, monthly financial reporting, board pack and month-end reporting package, depending on where you are. Every name, explained.
The first month is where the mapping is learned
1. Load the raw data
The trial balance, and if you want ageing, the bills outstanding registers, in any format.
2. The mapping is built for you
Each ledger is matched to a report head, rules first and AI for the rest. Nothing waits for a review; anything that cannot be placed is shown as Unmapped in the workbook.
3. Take the report
An Excel workbook with live formulas, a dashboard and commentary, checked to tie back to the trial balance.
Every month after makes no AI calls on unchanged books
1. Load this month's trial balance
Exported the same way as last month.
2. Refresh
The confirmed mapping is applied. Only ledgers that are new since last month are brought to you for a decision.
3. Download
The same workbook, rolled forward a month, with the comparatives and year to date updated.
On a month where the ledger structure has not changed, the refresh makes no AI calls at all — it is arithmetic on a mapping you have already approved. That is why it is fast, and why it costs a fraction of the first month.
How to automate an MIS report in Excel
In Excel alone, the automation that holds up is a mapping table and formulas built on it. Paste the month's trial balance onto a data sheet, keep a second sheet that gives every ledger its report head, and let SUMIFS add the ledgers up into the P&L and balance sheet. Next month you paste over the data sheet and the report recalculates.
What Excel cannot automate is the part that breaks it: a ledger that is new since last month falls out of every SUMIFS without a word, a renamed one stops matching, and an export laid out a little differently lands in the wrong columns. Somebody has to notice, every month, or the totals stop tying to the trial balance.
That noticing is what Magic MIS does for you. Each column is found by its header rather than its position, every ledger is mapped once, a new one is brought to you rather than dropped, and the workbook you download is ordinary Excel with live formulas — checked to tie back to the trial balance before you receive it.
What stays the same when it gets faster
Every figure is traceable. Open any figure and see the ledgers behind it.
The report is checked. It must tie back to the trial balance before you receive it.
Paid per refresh. Each refresh is paid from prepaid credits at its standard price. No subscription.
What people ask about an MIS in minutes
How long does a monthly MIS take to prepare by hand?
A first MIS for a new company typically takes one to two days in Excel, and each following month a few hours of re-keying, re-mapping and re-checking. Most of that repeat effort goes into work that has not changed since last month.
Is it really minutes?
For a monthly refresh on unchanged ledger structure, yes — the work is reading the file, applying the mapping already built, and computing. A first setup takes a little longer while every ledger is matched, but nothing waits on you.
What if a new ledger appears?
It is flagged and proposed a report head for your decision. Everything already mapped carries forward, so a new ledger costs a moment rather than a rebuild.
Do I need macros or a template of my own?
No. The workbook is produced for you with ordinary Excel formulas, so it can be opened, checked and extended in Excel without macros. If you already have a report layout you like, it can be recreated from a sample of it.
